I am Mark Prewett a grade ‘A’ DVSA Approved driving instructor. I started Driving Ambition in 1990 after working in retail and BBC local radio. I have had exclusive use of Turweston Aerodrome since 2001. .

According to the Driving Standards Agency (DSA), the average learner driver takes around 44 hours of professional lessons to pass their driving test the first time. This is just an average figure – it’s important to remember that everyone’s different. Some will need less and some more. Those getting around 20+ hours of private practice also do better. Please plan very early. If you book and pay for more lessons than are taken the balance is refunded to you. I advise starting with a few 1-hour lessons and then 1.5 or 2 hours.

Lessons are paid for either in advance or at the time of booking
Due to the backlog from the Covid lockdowns & examiner strikes I am now booking between 3 - 4 months ahead. Please be patient & plan well ahead. Try not to leave it to the last minute. It's best to plan 20 - 30 hours early to make sure you are booked in. Bookings are on a first come first-served basis. There is no waiting list.
